TUPELO – While the future of the C.C. Augustus Center’s pool hangs in the balance, regardless of whether it is replaced with a new pool, splash pad or grass, the old pool will be demolished as Tupelo elected officials give the city the go-ahead to dispose of the aged and storied feature.

The Tupelo City Council voted unanimously among present members this week to approve the surplus and demolition of the C.C. Augustus pool, pump house and pool house ahead of the complete renovation of the C.C. Augustus Center.
