2nd person dies several weeks after crash

BECKER, Miss. (WTVA) — A second person has died following a deadly crash in Monroe County.

Courtney Mitchell, 45, of Amory, died Monday at a Jackson hospital, Coroner Alan Gurley announced.

The two-vehicle crash happened Sept. 22 on Old Highway 25 near Richardson Road in the Becker community.

Mitchell drove one of the vehicles.

Julie Long, 55, of Amory — the driver of the other vehicle — died at the scene of the crash.
