The latest Fox News poll carried some decisively bad news for President Donald Trump and his administration, which has been plagued by corruption scandals in recent months.
The new poll found that the top issue among voters, with 88% of respondents saying they are “extremely or very concerned” about it, was “corruption in government.”
The poll conducted between October 9th and the 12th, among 1,202 registered voters, found “Inflation and high prices” to be the second most important issue to voters, with 85% “extremely or very concerned” about it.
“Gas prices” came in third, with 83% of respondents being “extremely or very concerned” about it, while “Healthcare” landed in fourth place with 80%.
Trump’s signature issue of “voter fraud” was the last important issue polled, with a 52 to 48% split on voters being concerned or not.
The poll comes amid the fallout from Trump-world staple Kimberly Guilfoyle resigning as ambassador to Greece amid a brewing pay-for-play corruption scandal. Questions surrounding the president and his family profiting of Trump’s second term abound across the media, while Texas GOP Senate nominee Ken Paxton also continues to raise eyebrows with his exploits, including recently partying with fugitives wanted by U.S. law enforcement in Dubai.
The poll also had some bleak news for Trump on the economy.
“The economic landscape is stark,” noted the Fox News write-up of the poll, adding:
Six in 10 voters say the cost of living is their top economic worry, overshadowing government spending (15%), jobs and income inequality (7% each), tariffs (6%) and taxes (5%).
Majorities rate the economy negatively (74%) and expect it to worsen next year (53%), while two-thirds are dissatisfied with how things are going in the country (66%). Few, 18%, say their family is better off compared to two years ago. Independents say they’re worse off (52%) and think the economy will get worse (70%).
