In short:

Saudi Arabia says it has intercepted a ballistic missile fired by the Houthis towards Riyadh.

Houthis claimed responsibility for two strikes on Monday, local time, aimed at Riyadh airport and an air base in Saudi Arabia's Khamis Mushait.

The fresh strikes come after Saudi Arabia launched an investigation to determine how its air defences failed to intercept the Houthi missiles.
