2 killed, including child, in wreck

WEST POINT, Miss. (WTVA) — A crash in Clay County killed two people, including a 10-year-old girl.

Clay County Coroner Alvin Carter Jr. did not release the child’s name but identified the other victim as Caroline Frasca, 51, of Columbus.

He said the crash happened Monday morning at approximately 7:46 at the intersection of Oak Crest Circle and Highway 50.

He said two vehicles collided. Carter said Frasca drove one vehicle, and the child was a passenger in the second vehicle.

Both died at the scene of the crash. The coroner also reported other injuries.

MHP Trooper Clay Flake said the crash also sent three other juveniles to hospitals. He later described their injuries as moderate.

Carter said his office, along with the Mississippi Highway Patrol (MHP) and the Clay County Sheriff’s Office, continues to investigate the crash.
