Teen in custody following worrying incident in Lee County
PLANTERSVILLE, Miss. (WTVA) — Law enforcement took a teenager into custody following a worrying situation in Lee County.
The incident happened Monday morning in Plantersville.
Sheriff’s deputies received a report about an incident — possibly involving an armed individual — at a store near Plantersville School, Lee County Sheriff Jim Johnson said.
They identified the individual as a 15-year-old who boarded a school bus.
Officers located the bus and the teenager and found no weapon. They took the teenager to the county jail for further questioning.
Johnson said Plantersville police continue to investigate the reported incident at the store.
The sheriff said authorities temporarily placed the school on lockdown as a precaution; school operations returned to normal.
