OXFORD, Miss. (WTVA) — Cleanup crews and volunteers were out early Sunday morning in Oxford, facing a large job after Ole Miss’ win the night before over LSU.
Crews and volunteers started working at 6:30 a.m. in the Grove.
Cups, bottles and other trash were left behind, leaving crews with a lot to do.
Nathan Lazeinsky, a cleanup crew member, said he has not missed a game in 15 years, and this was as bad as he’s ever seen the Grove.
“It’s a tie for when Texas came, but this is probably the worst,” Lazeinsky said.
The crew and volunteers said cleaning up after game days is normally a two- or three-hour job. Because of the amount of trash left behind this time, the cleanup took all day.
