Houston fans get free LSU-Ole Miss game day experience
HOUSTON, Miss. (WTVA) — Tickets inside Vaught-Hemingway Stadium cost thousands of dollars for the LSU-Ole Miss game.
About an hour away in Houston, fans got a game day experience without the price tag.
Free watch party draws fans in team colors
The Will Foundation turned the Houston square into its own game day headquarters. Fans showed up in Rebel red and blue, and some in purple and gold, for the free watch party at the Houston Historical Theatre.
The event included music, a chili cook-off and a big screen showing the game.
Houston native on the field for Ole Miss
Houston native Will Echoles was on the field for Ole Miss in the game.
Shane Booth, a Houston native, said he was rooting for Echoles despite supporting LSU.
“Even though I’m an LSU fan, I’m more of a Will Echoles fan than anything. I want Will to have the best game of his life tonight, but I want my Tigers to win, though,” Booth said.
Regina Echoles, the Will Foundation’s chief operating officer, said the event was a way to give back to the community.
