PRENTISS COUNTY, Miss. (WTVA) – A Booneville man is being accused of inappropriately touching a four-year-old.

The Prentiss County Sheriff’s Office has charged 39-year-old Cristofer Clinton Carpenter with one count of molesting (touching a child or mentally defective person for a lustful purpose).

He was taken into custody on Sept. 2.

The charge stems from an investigation that was launched by law enforcement after a report was made.

The sheriff’s office’s statement said the child participated in a forensic interview where a disclosure was made.

Carpenter’s bond was set at $100,000, and he was ordered to have no contact with the victim or the family.
