1 dead after Lee County shooting

VERONA, Miss. (WTVA) — A shooting in Lee County killed a man on Wednesday afternoon.

Lee County Coroner Carolyn Green is not able to release the victim’s name at this time.

However, she confirmed the fatal shooting happened in Verona.

The victim later died at the Tupelo hospital. Green ordered an autopsy.

The shooting happened at the Super C Store on Raymond Avenue, Police Chief Marsenio Nunn said.

Police identified a person of interest in the case; however, it’s unclear if officers took someone into custody.
