Seeds planted for new farmers’ market

BALDWYN, Miss. (WTVA) – A new opportunity is taking root in northeast Mississippi.

The City of Baldwyn is working to open the Okeelala Farmers’ Market on Water Street.

Mayor Roslynn Clark said the market will provide a space for local farmers, vendors, and small businesses to showcase and sell their goods.

“It would be very beneficial for the whole region,” Clark said. “It would allow farmers to have a place to share their produce with our local community. And it will also be a place for our local artists to come in with their creations.”

The project is expected to be completed by January 2027.
