Tupelo Public School District postpones community tailgate

TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) — The Tupelo Public School District postponed its community tailgate because of the extreme heat.

The new date has not been set.

“You can’t practice or have activities outside,” said Gregg Ellis, the Tupelo Schools’ Director of Marketing. “It’s not just sports; band is affected by that as well. It affects everything. Recess outside in our younger grades. It’s tough to deal with, but it’s Mississippi. We’re not shocked that it gets hot here.”
