PRENTISS COUNTY, Miss. (WTVA) - The Prentiss County Sheriff’s Department has charged Jason Ray Dowse with failure to register as a sex offender.

An investigation allegedly revealed that Dowse was not residing at either of his registered addresses.

Interviews with people who knew Dowse revealed that he had been staying at various locations and had spent multiple weeks at an unregistered residence in Alcorn County, according to the sheriff’s department.

Investigators say Dowse later admitted to staying at an unregistered residence longer than the week-long legal limit required for notification.

Justice Court Judge Ray Hall set his bond at $5,000. The case will be presented to the next grand jury.
