TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) – Emergency medicine providers and hospital leaders from across the region are coming together for a day focused on education, collaboration, and leadership.

The Jim Spruiell Emergency Medicine Collaborative returns to Tupelo for another year, honoring the legacy of a longtime emergency medicine educator who died in a helicopter crash in 2017.

The event – set for Sept. 14 – has been bringing emergency medicine professionals together for nearly a decade.

Relias Healthcare will present the Jim Spruiell Excellence in Leadership Award to a prehospital provider from the region during the event.

Community members can nominate someone for the award through Sept. 1.

“Jim Spruiell spent his career making sure that emergency medicine providers had the training and the support they need to provide the best possible care, and this is our way of paying that forward here at Relias,” said Jaycee Drew Janzen, the Marketing Content Specialist for Relias.
