The school has more than 400 students.
Houston High School Principal Zane Thomas, now in his fourth year at the school, said the achievement reflects the work of students and teachers.
“For Houston High School to be able to maintain an A rating for four years is nothing short of phenomenal. But it is a direct result of the rock star kids and teachers that we have,” Thomas said. “And them buying into our culture and what we want to do for, as in not wishing for something but working for it.”
This year’s rating comes under new, higher standards from the Mississippi Department of Education.
