A protester seated on the stage right behind JD Vance’s podium heckled the vice president about Jeffrey Epstein during a North Carolina rally on Monday. Vance was in the middle of pontificating about the “corrupt, far-left cartel,” when a man seated right behind him stood and began shouting about releasing the Epstein files. “God bless our children!” the man repeatedly shouted, as security made a beeline for the heckler and escorted him off the stage. The crowd booed and broke into chants of “USA! USA!” as the man was muscled out of the venue. “Ladies and gentlemen, I’m going to have to amend something I said earlier,” Vance said to rebound from the incident. “I said that we have had zero illegal border crossings in the United States of America. But one isn’t bad, right?” Vance said of the man, who had a dark complexion and dark hair. The crowd burst into laughter and cheers. “Ladies and gentlemen, we know what the guy yelling at us behind us stood for,” Vance continued. “And we know what the far-left Democrats like Don Davis stand for. They stand for the idea that your government exists for fraudsters or criminals or illegal aliens, when we know the American government exists for American citizens — that’s who it belongs to!” Rep. Don Davis (D) is running for a third term against Republican Laurie Buckhout, a retired Army colonel who worked on U.S. cyber policy during the second Trump administration. “Last year Republican state lawmakers redrew the congressional map before the census to elect more Republicans. One of their goals was unseating Davis, who represents the 1st Congressional District,” reported Spectrum News. Vance sat for a tough CBS News town hall over the weekend, with anchor Tony Dokoupil calling him out on everything from gas prices and the Iran war to immigration and corruption in the White House.
