TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) – The Tupelo Golden Wave is returning to the field for the first time since losing one of their own.

Sunday morning, 19-year-old Alden Wade was killed in a car crash.

A senior, he was on the track team and a running back.

Thursday night, his teammates and community are honoring his memory.

People are expected to wear blue and the number “31” on their hand to show support for Wade’s family.

Tupelo High School will hold a moment of silence as well, with players also wearing special decals on their helmets.
