PADEN, Miss. (WTVA) — Firefighters are battling multiple spot fires along a busy highway in Tishomingo County.

County Fire Coordinator Shelly Davis said this is happening along Highway 30 from Paden to the Prentiss County border.

Davis said firefighters from four departments in Tishomingo County, along with some from Prentiss and the Mississippi Forestry Commission, are on the scene.

Davis said the fires are not threatening nearby homes at this time.

Motorists should be cautious and look out for heavy smoke.

Tishomingo County is not under a burn ban as of Wednesday evening.
