COLUMBUS, Miss. (WTVA) — Columbus Mayor Stephen Jones has started a blog called “From the Mayor’s Desk” to keep residents informed and highlight people who contribute to the city.

Jones said the blog gives him a place to discuss the city’s progress, the challenges it faces and what is ahead.

He also said he wants to use the blog to recognize businesses, organizations and residents who are investing in the community.

“Without those people, Columbus would be nothing. We’ve come a long way, and we just want to keep positive things going throughout the city and our community,” Jones said.

Jones said he hopes the blog will help keep that conversation going while giving residents a closer look at the people and work behind the city.
