TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) — Breast Cancer Awareness Month is about more than wearing pink — it’s also about showing support for those fighting the disease.

Students at the Tupelo Career-Technical Center are turning their creativity into a way to give back.

They’ve created a limited-edition collection of hype chains, engraved mugs and tumblers — all made right inside their classrooms.

But the project is about more than fundraising.

“Our students are not only giving back through making the items, but also just bringing awareness to the entire campus of the importance of breast cancer,” student services coordinator Sherry McGaughy said. “We’re going to donate an item to a local breast cancer organization, and so we are trying to raise funds for that as well.”
