                    "PRIME Minister Andy Burnham has said there are \u201cstrong indications\u201d Iran played a part in the alleged RAF Fairford terror plot as the mystery continues to what happened over the weekend.\n\n\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\tSign up for The Sun investigation involving our colleagues in the United States, and we are working very closely with them.\n\n\n\n\u201cAnd I will say more when I can.\u201d\n\n\n\nThe development comes after counter-terror cops searched three white vans found blocking a road near RAF Fairford.\n\n\n\nNo improvised explosive devices were found, although a quantity of petrol was recovered.\n\n\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\tMost read in The Sun\n\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\n\t\n\n\n\nThe Sun understands large plastic barrels of fuel were found inside the vehicles and were initially thought to contain chemical explosives.\n\n\n\nCops are now examining a number of possible explanations for why the men were there, including whether they were acting as Iranian proxies.\n\n\n\nOther lines of inquiry include whether they were carrying out surveillance, testing the base\u2019s security in a \u201cdry run\u201d or attempting to send a message to the British Government.\n\n\n\nThe case took suspect\u2019s motives for calling the police on themselves.\n\n\n\nThe reported call could explain why cops were responding at around 12.45am, before a local farmer raised the alarm at around 1.36am.\n\n\n\nThe farmer had spotted three vans blocking the road near Whelford as she drove home with her husband.\n\n\n\nShe told The Sun: \u201cWe had to turn around and drive away.\n\n\n\n\u201cWhen we did that, we saw a group of men with masks and balaclavas running in front of us.\u201d\n\n\n\nShe tried to contact the airbase but was unable to get through before calling 999.\n\n\n\nAround 85 homes in nearby Whelford were evacuated as armed cops descended on the scene.\n\n\n\nExclusive footage shared with The Sun showed one of the white vans travelling towards RAF been involved in operations against Iran.\n\n\n\nUS President Donald Trump has repeatedly criticised the decision to release the five suspects on bail.\n\n\n\nHe previously said he was \u201csurprised\u201d by their release and that he would not have granted them bail.\n\n\n\nUS Secretary of State Marco Rubio has also previously said a \u201cforeign actor\u201d was involved, while pointing towards Iran.\n\n\n\nCounter Terrorism Policing has stressed that the investigation remains ongoing and that officers are keeping an open mind.\n\n\n\nAssistant Commissioner Laurence Taylor said searches of the vans had concluded and confirmed that no viable explosive devices had been found.\n\n\n\nSpeculation grew that the men could have been fuel thieves, after the head of the
