Iran has denied seeking a weapon, noting it had signed an agreement with world powers in 2015 that curbed its nuclear programme in exchange for sanctions relief. But Trump abandoned the agreement during his first term in 2018.The US-Israel war on Iran has disrupted global energy supplies, raised fuel costs and hurt Trump\u2019s popularity ahead of the November midterm elections.Trump held summits with North Korea\u2019s Kim in 2018 and 2019, but diplomacy broke down over US demands that Pyongyang give up its nuclear weapons.
