(WTVA) – A day on the golf course is helping make a difference for two local organizations serving people in need. The Home Builders and Remodelers Association of Northeast Mississippi held its annual golf tournament Tuesday at Tupelo National Golf Course. But the event was more than just a round of golf. The association presented a total of $5,000 to Faith Haven and Remnant House, helping support the organizations and the missions they provide in the community. “This is a gracious donation that we had no idea that we were going to receive. We lost some of our funding,” said Jackie Smith, the executive director of Faith Haven. “We are in the middle of expansion, and we have been praying for money. Then the doors open, and says, here is more money,” said Abby Barnes, the co-founder of Remnant House. “A lot of golf tournaments have a lot of events, but we want to make sure not only are we connecting our community, but we also are giving back,” said Lori Dillon, a member of the Home Builders Association. This is the 45th annual Home Builders and Remodelers Association of Northeast Mississippi golf tournament. Copyright 2026 WTVA. All rights reserved.
