OXFORD, Miss. (WMC) - Newly released documents reveal more information about the narcotics bust at an Oxford smoke shop.

A search warrant was executed Thursday at Puffs Vape, Tobacco and Beer Store on Heritage Drive in Oxford. Yahya Mohamed Mosleh, 51, and Islam Mohamed, 18, were arrested and charged with possession of schedule I controlled substances with intent to distribute.

An affidavit reveals that the deaths of Aidan Hamilton and Robert Strang led to the search warrant being obtained.

Records show Hamilton made two purchases at Puffs--one on September 9 and one on September 14.

Detectives say Strang made two purchases at a store in Yalobusha County.

Both reportedly purchased “Smax” Pseudo-DHM tablets, a package of pills believed to be kratom or a synthetic form of kratom.

Following Hamilton’s death, undercover officers went to Puffs to purchase nitrous and kratom.

After the successful undercover purchase, officers converged on the store arrested the two men.

A cause of death has not yet been determined in Hamilton nor Strang’s deaths, but police records show that the coroner believed the deaths to be consistent with a druig overdose.
