(WTVA) — Two men are behind bars in Columbus after a shooting Friday morning. Demon Clopton is charged with aggravated assault. He is accused of shooting into a vehicle and injuring one of the people inside. He was taken into custody Saturday. While investigators were searching the vehicle, they found marijuana and a stolen gun. They arrested Jaylin Williams, who was also in the vehicle, for possession of a stolen firearm. The shooting happened around 10:40 a.m. near the intersection of Waterworks Road and 14th Avenue North. Before officers arrived on scene, police say the victim left the scene and went to Baptist Memorial Hospital for treatment. Neither suspect has had their bond set at this time. Copyright 2026 WTVA.
