Critics were irate, Sunday, over a new government-funded political ad promoting President Donald Trump aired on Fox News Sunday.

The black-and-white 30-second spot showed a grim-faced Trump walking down a hallway as audio from a rally speech played in the background.

“This is the final battle,” Trump said in the ad. “With you at my side, we will demolish the deep state. We will expel the warmongers from our government. We will drive out the globalists. We will cast out the communists, Marxists and fascists. We will throw off the sick political class that hates our country. We will rout the fake news media. And we will liberate America from these villains once and for all.”

The ad was almost a carbon copy of one the Trump campaign produced in 2024 — with one notable exception. This version contained the disclosure, in the closing seconds, that the ad was “paid for by the U.S. government.”

This is the second such government-funded pro-Trump political ad in recent days. The first flashed images of Trump over the song “Love Me” by singer JMSN — who said in a statement that he did not give permission for his song to be used, and said he was consulting with lawyers.

In defending that ad, a White House spokesperson told CBS News, “These public service announcements are about reminding Americans to love their country and understand what makes it worth defending, at home, at our borders, and abroad. The ad is educational and unapologetically patriotic. We should be proud of our country.”

But critics are up in arms about the new 30-second spots:

What’s crazy is it’s not that hard to for a White House to steer donors to an outside group who can run fluffer ads like this. But no, Trump and this administration wants to take the maximally corrupt route just to show you they can get away with it. https://t.co/VV3rrLNYpo

Honestly had missed the President is running taxpayer funded campaign ads. Not even pretending to have a message that is useful to the public. Even if you agree with him you want the government itself buying 30 second spots?
