Smoke is seen coming from the exterior of the Global Cellulose Fibers production facility Monday in Lowndes County. A fire that started at about 7:30 p.m. Monday grew so large it necessitated a response from firefighters with Lowndes County Volunteer Districts 4 and 5, Industrial Fire and Rescue and Columbus Fire and Rescue, said Jim Robbins, Lowndes County fire services coordinator.
