TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) – The community’s support has made a difference for the community’s NICU.

Last month, North Mississippi Medical Center Women’s Hospital was collecting donations for its NICU Wee Care Room.

The room is now stocked with items a family spending long days and nights in the NICU may need.

There are packaged snacks, chips and crackers, soft drinks and bottled water, ready-to-eat meals, and microwaveable entrées.

The room is also stocked with travel-size soap, shampoo, and other personal-care items.

“We’re very appreciative of all the donations that y’all provided for our NICU family Wee Care Room,” said Janna Mink, the Assistant Nurse Manager for the NICU. “The shelves are completely stocked, so our parents don’t have to worry about the stress of finding food while they are here.”

The Women’s Hospital says the need continues and donations are still being accepted for the Wee Care Room, helping make those long NICU stays a little easier for local families.

Items can be dropped off at the NMMC Women’s Hospital front desk at any time. For more information, call (662) 377-4924 or (662) 377-4948.
