                    "Two Lowndes men killed in crash on Black Creek Road\t\n\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\n\n\t\t\t\t\u00a0 \u2022 2 mins to read\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\n\n\t\n\t\n\t\t\n\n\t\n\n\t\n\t\n\t\t\tA single-vehicle accident claimed the lives of two Lowndes County men early Sunday morning.\nSir Ellihue Blackwell, 19, was identified as the driver of the silver Lincoln Continental that on Sunday morning crashed into a tree on Black Creek Road, Lowndes County Coroner Greg Merchant wrote in a text to media members. Merchant identified Aiden Taylor, 20, as the front seat passenger.\nBoth men died in the crash.\nAt about 4:25 a.m., Blackwell turned off Military Road onto Black Creek Road traveling south when he lost control of the car and crashed into a tree, Sheriff Eddie Hawkins told The Dispatch. He suspects both men died on impact.\n\u201cThe motor in the vehicle was no longer in the vehicle,\u201d Hawkins said. \u201cIt was wrapped around a tree. They were traveling at a high rate of speed when they hit the tree.\u201d\nDeputies were alerted to the crash after either Blackwell or Taylor\u2019s phone automatically called 911 because the vehicle had abruptly stopped, Hawkins said.\nShortly after being notified, deputies responded to the 400 block of Black Creek Road, where they found Blackwell and Taylor unresponsive.
