When they arrived, deputies spoke with a female victim who said Harris, her ex-boyfriend, had allegedly come to her home and began banging on the door.\nAfter she opened the door to confront Harris, the victim said a verbal argument escalated to a physical altercation, during which Harris allegedly grabbed the victim, threw her to the ground and began choking her. The victim said she told Harris she could not breathe.\nThe victim said she eventually broke free and fled toward the backyard of the residence. Harris then allegedly attempted unsuccessfully to hit the victim with his vehicle before fleeing the scene.\nThe press release said deputies observed tire marks in the yard of the residence that corroborated the victim\u2019s account of the incident.\nThe investigation remains ongoing, and additional charges may be considered as it continues, the press release said.\nHarris is being held at Lowndes County Adult Detention Center.
