TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) – Those who work behind the scenes to support students got their recognition.

The Junior Auxiliary of Tupelo hosted its annual School Aid Luncheon Tuesday at First United Methodist Church.

The luncheon brought together school nurses, guidance counselors, principals, assistant principals, and school support therapists from around the area.

The luncheon is an avenue for the auxiliary to thank the staff members they partner with throughout the year for the work they do for students.

School Aid Chair Jene King said the luncheon is their way of showing appreciation.

“This is just a simple way that we give back to the administrators, counselors, and the nurses that are there in the trenches every day,” King said.

The Junior Auxiliary has operated major community traditions in Lee County for 64 years and will celebrate 75 years of service to the community.
