The (https://metro.co.uk/tag/youtube/) YouTube stars spoke to troops gathered at the headquarters of the US Department of Defense ahead of National POW/MIA Recognition Day. Logan described the visit as a ‘cool experience’ and praised members of the military for their willingness to ‘live, die and fight for their country’. The visit, which was documented by the Department of Defense, showed the brothers speaking to service members and meeting Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth. A spokesperson for the Defense Department said: ‘Last Thursday, we welcomed Logan and (https://metro.co.uk/tag/jake-paul/) Jake Paul to the Pentagon to meet with our warriors.’ However, with it not being clear why the brothers were invited, the visit has been mocked online. Jake also appeared to meet with Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent on the same day. Bessent shared pictures of himself with the entrepreneur (https://metro.co.uk/2025/06/29/jake-paul-accused-killing-boxing-staged-fight-julio-cesar-chavez-jr-23532665/) and boxer , writing: ‘Jake’s path from content creator to entrepreneur and professional boxer is a distinctly American story.’ In the clip where the Paul brothers meet with Hesgeth, Logan can be heard saying: ‘We just got the pleasure and the privilege of getting a tour of the Pentagon and what a cool experience.’ (Why were Jake and Logan Paul at the Pentagon? The Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment has been testing how horses and traditional cavalry skills could be used in future military operations - and decking out an animal in a specially made camouflage outfit. Soldiers carried out a series of trials during the regiment's annual Summer Camp at Longmoor Training Area in Hampshire, examining the use of horses for reconnaissance, mobility across difficult terrain and concealment. One horse was fitted with his bespoke camouflage covering developed by Household Cavalry soldiers as part of experiments into concealment techniques for future operational environments. Major General James Bowder OBE, General Officer Commanding London District, inspected the trials. The exercise culminated in a 24-hour mounted navigation and reconnaissance challenge, designed to assess how effective horses could be in modern battlefield conditions. The regiment said it had drawn on the experience of allied countries where horses continue to be used in specialised operational roles. India uses horses for patrolling and border reconnaissance, while Chile employs them for scouting at high altitude. Russia has also used horses for frontline logistics. France, Estonia and Finland are among other countries examining the potential tactical uses of horses. The US military maintains an expeditionary mounted and pack-horse capability for possible deployment in austere environments. Following the 9/11 attacks in 2001, US special forces used horses during operations in Afghanistan against the Taliban, with troops relying on local and allied fighters familiar with the terrain. The trials come as militaries continue to examine ways of operating in environments where conventional vehicles may be difficult to use. Horses can potentially travel through steep, narrow or broken terrain while carrying personnel and equipment, although their use also presents challenges around logistics, training and animal welfare. The Household Cavalry's experiments are intended to assess whether those capabilities could have a role in future operational environments. Rescuers searched on September 16 for dozens of people missing after an apartment block in Gaza collapsed, killing eight people including children, authorities in the war-torn enclave said. Gaza's civil defence agency said the six-storey building in the Tal al-Hawa area was home to people displaced by the war with Israel, and collapsed onto residentials and nearby tents.
