(WTVA) \u2014 Ahead of Saturday\u2019s Magnolia Bowl, fans on both sides are trading trash talk in the skies.Joshua Gregory is an Ole Miss fan and pilot who has used flight time to create messages tracked on flight trackers.\u201cI needed to take it to their home court for sure. And I wanted to make sure I had a message that was family-friendly, but also a little bit poke the bearish,\u201d Gregory said.One of Gregory\u2019s most notable messages read \u201cCome to the SIP.\u201d He flew the message over Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.Ole Miss fan Joshua Gregory and LSU fan Matthew Becker took to the skies to trash talk ahead of the LSU vs. Ole Miss game.(FlightAware.com)\u201c\u2018Come to the SIP\u2019 was Lane Kiffin\u2019s thing when he was here. So it was kind of like a, you know, using it on him was a fun way and just saying, look, we\u2019re ready for you all to come up here,\u201d Gregory said.Pilots are required to fly a certain number of hours to earn different types of licenses. Gregory used that time to fly the message.\u201cI\u2019m talking to Baton Rouge and New Orleans air traffic control while I was there. After a few hours of watching me and realizing that I\u2019m not being a little erratic in this pattern, they looked me up on FlightAware, and we had a fun little back and forth taunting in the air there towards the end of the flight,\u201d Gregory said.LSU fan respondsGregory\u2019s flight drew attention from both Ole Miss and LSU fans.\u201cWhen I saw what he did over Baton Rouge, I decided we couldn\u2019t let that stand. The odds of it being this airport. I didn\u2019t know what airport he was based at. I\u2019d never talked to him before,\u201d Becker said.Planning for this type of message can take a couple of hours, and the flight itself averages four to five hours.Becker prepares for takeoff\u201cWe are going to write just a nice, simple, old-fashioned LSU message, \u2018Geaux Tigers\u2019 smack-dab right over the middle of Oxford.
