Zelensky's comments, posted on Telegram, appeared to amount to a denial that Ukraine had formally endorsed U.S. President Donald Trump's statement that Ukraine and Russia had agreed not to hit each other's energy targets. Zelensky said Ukraine was not convinced that Russia was willing to abide by any agreement. news (https://www.themoscowtimes.com/2026/09/15/regions-calling-russias-fuel-producing-hub-struggles-to-shake-off-supply-crisis) (Regions Calling: Russia's Fuel-Producing Hub Struggles to Shake Off Supply Crisis) Regions Calling: Russia's Fuel-Producing Hub Struggles to Shake Off Supply Crisis Read more "Ukraine is not certain that Russia is willing to stick to any agreement," he wrote. "The war must be brought to an end. And a de-escalatory step regarding critical infrastructure could be the first step toward peace. We expect specifics from our partners." Ukraine was willing to sign on to an agreement to refrain from strikes on infrastructure, he said, but any such accord had to be "reliable, long-term, and actually have a real impact on people's lives." In his statement, Trump said the two sides had agreed not to hit each other's energy targets. "Ukraine has agreed not to hit Russian Energy targets. Russia has agreed to do, likewise!" he wrote. Russia's Prosecutor General's Office has designated The Moscow Times as an "undesirable" organization, criminalizing our work and putting our staff at risk of prosecution. This follows our earlier unjust labeling as a "foreign agent." These actions are direct attempts to silence independent journalism in Russia. The authorities claim our work "discredits the decisions of the Russian leadership." We see things differently: we strive to provide accurate, unbiased reporting on Russia. We, the journalists of The Moscow Times, refuse to be silenced. But to continue our work, (https://www.themoscowtimes.com/contribute?utm_source=contribute&utm_medium=article) (we need your help) we need your help .
