The soldier was taken in for questioning to clarify the circumstances of the shooting and was suspended by the military pending the conclusion of the inquiry. The IDF said that soldiers were deployed to the Palestinian village of Al-Mughayyir several times on Saturday amid reports of (https://www.jpost.com/israel-news/article-908414) stone-throwing between villagers and Israeli civilians, with stones thrown at the soldiers themselves upon arrival. The military added that it received a report of the incident involving the off-duty soldier, which occured on the outskirts of Al-Mughayyir.
