WEST POINT, Miss. (WTVA) – A tax increase proposal was accepted in West Point.

West Point Mayor Rob Bobo said the request for additional school district funding was approved on Tuesday,

It includes $350,000, with leaders now working on setting millage to see how much of a tax increase that will generate.

Before the Tuesday meeting, Bobo stressed that the request is coming from the West Point Consolidated School District, not the city for its own operations.
