Ford, who has taught for 31 years, spending the last 18 teaching Kindergarten at Annunciation Catholic School, was recently named Teacher of the Year by the Louisiana-Mississippi-West Tennessee District of Kiwanis International after being voted Teacher of the Year by Columbus Kiwanis Club earlier this year. “(Ford’s) talent in the classroom is coupled with a determination to ‘meet each student where they are,’” Tom Velek, club president, wrote in an email to The Dispatch. “Multiple individuals spoke to the positive experience their children had in Ford's classroom.” Courtesy of Tom Velek
