MYRTLE, Miss. (WTVA) – An investigation is underway after puppies were abandoned.
Union County Animal Control said four puppies were left along County Road 14 near Myrtle early in the week of Aug. 31.
“Two of the dogs had been shot,” said Curt Clayton with Union County Animal Control. “One looked to be run over, and she couldn’t find the other one.”
Two of the injured puppies are being treated, while one has died.
Clayton said two of the puppies were barricaded inside drainage culverts and left to starve.
No arrests have been made, and animal control is investigating.
