Iran’s Fars news agency reported that an advanced air defence system operated by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) targeted and brought down the drone, in the second such incident within 24 hours. Early on Monday, the IRGC said it had shot down a US drone of the same type over the strait. The Strait of Hormuz has seen rising tensions amid the war between the United States and Iran, disrupting shipping and global energy supplies.
