WEST POINT – A truck driver died Wednesday after crashing into a storage facility on Highway 45 Alternate.
Donald Mcintyre, 62 of Marietta, was traveling south on Highway 45 Alternate at about 9 a.m. Wednesday when he left the roadway and lost control of his truck before crashing into S&W Mini Storage units, Mississippi Highway Patrol Public Information Officer Trooper Bryant Flake told The Dispatch.
Flake said Mcintyre was driving the truck full of scrap metal for Bud Coley Trucking, a delivery company based in Tupelo. Flake was not certain of Mcintyre’s delivery destination.
The wreck, Flake said, left between three and five storage units “significantly damaged,” but no other injuries were reported.
The cause of the wreck is still under investigation by MHP, Flake said.
