NETTLETON, Miss. (WTVA) – An arrest has been made following a weekend break-in.

Nettleton Police announced on Tuesday the arrest of 34-year-old Rodney King on charges of breaking and entering.

His charges stem from a break-in at the Cozy Tobacco Shop on Sunday.

The store’s manager, Melinda Moore, said the store was a mess when she arrived, adding that the damage cost more than the items that were stolen.

Security footage from inside the store shows a man breaking the glass front door, destroying property, and taking several items off the shelves. Then run away.

Moore said a trail of stolen products led away from the store.

A frustrating ordeal, she said, it also infuriates her.

“Angry. I’m not going to tell you a story. Angry,” Moore said. “We put a lot of hard work in here. Things don’t just open up magically. You have to make it happen. As a team, we made it happen. And we’re all very proud of it. We still are. We’re not going to have someone come and take that from us. We’re going to get justice for this.”

Police said that King turned himself in and confessed to the crime Tuesday afternoon and is being held in the Monroe County Detention Facility.

Police said that King has a history of burglary.
