PONTOTOC, Miss. (WTVA) – Back-to-school time is flowing well in Pontotoc.

Students in the Pontotoc City School District have been back in the classroom for several weeks now.

The district welcomed hundreds of students back to school this year.

Teachers and staff are focused on building strong routines early in the year while helping students prepare for a successful academic year.

“Students have started building relationships with their teachers and their classmates, learning routines and procedures,” said Pontotoc Elementary School Principal Dr. Sherron Horton. “It’s been going well.”

School leaders said the focus now is keeping that momentum going as students and teachers settle into another successful school year.
