The bill, which \u201cwould make it easier to avoid a death penalty for Jewish defendants than Arab defendants,\u201d seems \u201cdesigned to be scrapped by the high court.\u201d The real purpose of the bill is \u201cto derail hostage deals.\u201d Historically, \u201ccontroversial swaps\u201d of hundreds or thousands of Palestinian inmates for a few Israeli hostages \u201chave long been understood to incentivize future hostage taking.\u201d Because of these deals, \u201cbloodstained terrorists\u201d know \u201cthey will never serve out their sentences,\u201d and so \u201cmurder convictions only temporarily remove someone from the battlefield.\u201d\n\n\n\t\n\n\n\nReligion desk: A Faith Revival Among the Young\n\n\n\n\u201cPastor Jason Howard of the Sanctuary Church in Pittsburgh saw a surge of young people flocking to his Christian congregation\u201d the week after Charlie Kirk was murdered,\u00a0reports the Washington Examiner\u2019s Salena Zito. Although \u201ctheir congregation had always been predominantly youth-driven\u201d \u2014 \u201cthis was different,\u201d as \u201clines began to form.\u201d It isn\u2019t an isolated phenomenon: \u201cFor the first time in decades, faith in this country is growing, not retreating \u2014 particularly among our young people.\u201d Plus, \u201cnew data show that the share of Americans who are nonreligious has dropped for the third year in a row.\u201d There\u2019s a \u201csurge in Roman Catholic Church converts\u201d across the US as well.
